I met Rudolph!!

Hey guys and gals! Ooch here . . .

Quick story – I was at a school in Needham recently and was doing my SuperPOWER (anti-bullying) show when something pretty funny happened.
So in this show I tell a story about a recurring nightmare I used to have about a bully who kept making my life miserable. Instead of using the kid’s actual name I use the name “Rudolph” because I figure no one will be named Rudolph, right?? WRONG!! In this show someone WAS named Rudolph and to make matters worse . . . it was a teacher!

Waa-waa-waa-waaaaaaaa . . . .

Hey guys! In November 2009 I got the opportunity to travel to the UK to film some commercials for Yomega.

It was my first time actually staying in England and I had an amazing time. I blogged the whole time I was there so I could share my adventures with my family. Now that more and more people are seeing my blog I thought it would be fun to share my UK adventures with you!

If you’d like to check out my London blog click here – Ooch’s Big London Adventure. Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page to get to the following day, etc.

I’ve also uploaded some of the 10 second commercials we shot in Manchester for Yomega. You can access them at any time by clicking on the “Ooch’s Commercials” section at the top of the page!

And finally, I got to be featured on the BBC. To see that video click on the “Ooch’s Videos” section at the top of the page. It will be the first video you see.

Hey guys! I’ve got some great news – I’ve got a brand new show called Secrets to Being Social. It’s all about discovering new skills that relate to being out and around other people. Let’s face it, you’re already a superstar . . . why not be a “SOCIAL SUPERSTAR”?! Don’t worry, it’s still got all the Ooching and “Awwww yeahs” you’ve come to know and love over the years as well as a healthy dose of comedy, music, dance and yo-yos. If you’re looking for something new and exciting, freshly grown from the zany brain of Ooch himself (me . . . writing in third person . . . yikes), please share it with someone who can get me to your school or event! Awwww yeah!!! Here’s a link to more info on the show – Oochworld.com

Yo-Yo Contest Alert!!!

Posted: March 13, 2011 in Learning

Hey guys!

I just wanted to let you know that in a couple of weeks I’m gonna be in the beautiful town of Northampton, MA taking part in one of my favorite events of the year – “The Z-Games” Northeast Regional Yo-Yo Contest!

I mention this contest because it’s the PERFECT yo-yo event check out if you’re curious about the sport of yo-yoing. The Z-Games offers a great inside look at what yo-yoing is all about.

It’s a full day of yo-yo events ranging from beginner contests to advanced yo-yo freestyles to music. Some of the best players in the country come to this event to compete for the regional title and hang with friends.

I also happen to feel that it’s the ultimate “first” yo-yo contest to take part in because lots of newcomers participate. Not only that but the event is built so that ANY yo-yo enthusiast can compete. AND I stress that if you can already do a few tricks, ENTER the contest. You won’t find a more friendly group of judges or people. This contest is built with the beginner and intermediate player in mind. Don’t get me wrong, they’re are some AMAZINGLY TALENTED players there but there’s a category for every skill level.

Oh, and did I mention that I’m the host?? Awwww yeah!!!!! Ill be MCing all day and I’ve got lots of fun things up my sleeve for ya! So come and share a day of yo-yo fun with me and lots of my yo-yo friends.

Sunday April 3rd 2011
JFK Middle School
100 Bridge Road
Florence, Massachusetts 01062

The event starts in the morning. For exact times and the schedule check out the A2Z website – A2Z Science and Learning Store

Hey guys, Ooch here!

So I travelled to the wonderful world of Connecticut recently and had the pleasure of hanging with the students of Sherman.  It was AWESOME!  I want to thank you for making me feel like a total rock star!

Positive Spin K 2 2

I especially want to thank all the students who wrote me letters!  Awwww yeah!!  There were a couple of questions that popped up a bunch of times that I would like to answer . . .

First off, lots of people mentioned that their favorite trick of mine was “Eating the Sandwich” . . . That’s really funny because after my shows I was ACTUALLY eating a sandwich and some students came into the room and asked me what trick I was doing.  I wasn’t actually doing a yo-yo trick so I said, “eating the sandwich”.  This has quickly become lots of people’s favorite trick!  Oh, and by the way, I was eating a tuna sandwich.  Tuuuuuuunnnnaaaaaaaaa!!!!  Yummy.

A few of the kids had a chance to see some of my rare yo-yos.  One of the yo-yos I showed was the PacMan yo-yo by Werrd, Australia.  It’s very rare because there are only TWO of them in existence.  Someone wanted to know who has the other Pac Man yo-yo.  The name of that guy is Stu Brown and he’s the guy who actually made them!  I feel honored to have one of them.

And another shout-out to the Sherman Yo-Yo Club!  I had the chance of hanging out with them after school and had a total blast!  To the Sherman Yo-Yo Knights . . . Awwww Yeah!!!!  Keep throwin’!!

Oh, and one more thing – the Sherman School has been . . .

No, not in the mirror . . .
